Undoubtedly one of the Crown Perfumery Company's most renowned creations, Crab Apple Blossom traces its origins to 1886 — inspired by the fragrant blooms of a crab apple tree gracing the founder's home in Kensington, London. He was the first perfumer in history to capture Apple Blossom as a fragrance ingredient, and within eight years of its launch, over half a million bottles were being sold annually. Clive Christian, steward of the Crown Perfumery heritage, has now reimagined this legendary fragrance for the contemporary era — a new Citrus Aquatic interpretation built from 151 of the finest and rarest ingredients in perfumery, at the house's signature 25% perfume concentration. Crafted by Kamila Lelakova, this is not a reproduction of the original but a completely new olfactory journey — one that honours the history while marking an entirely new direction for the house.

The opening is sparkling and immediately transporting: Marine Bergamot, Lemon Tree, Bitter Yuzu, and Mandarin arrive in a luminous citrus accord of extraordinary brightness and precision. Apple Blossom — used for the very first time in a Clive Christian fragrance — opens softly alongside them with a delicate, spring-like freshness that is simultaneously dewy and deeply refined. The heart is quintessentially English and deeply charming: Osmanthus, Neroli, Apricot Blossom, and Water Lily weave together in an airy floral core, while Green Rhubarb imparts a crisp, bittersweet facet akin to wandering through an English walled garden — beautifully complemented by a Mojito Accord that adds a refreshing mint and sugar sweetness. The dry-down is where the Crown Perfumery heritage is most clearly felt: aged Sandalwood — Clive Christian uses only 50-year-old aged sandalwood, selected as the finest in the world — settles alongside Driftwood, Moss, Amber, Musk, and Kashmirwood in a base that is simultaneously soft, aquatic, woody, and deeply sophisticated.
