If you've spent any time in fragrance Discord servers or Reddit threads this year, you've probably seen Anelo come up. Pernoire's 2025 release has people reaching for comparisons — Erba Pura, God of Fire, Vibrato — and then backing off those comparisons a few sentences later because it doesn't quite sit still long enough to pin down. That's usually a good sign.
What is Pernoire Anelo?
Pernoire is a Swiss niche house founded in 2020 by Nico Mannino and Robin Dünner, built around the idea that a fragrance should give the wearer a new personality to step into for a while. Anelo is the second release in their white "Odus Collection," following last year's caramel-popcorn gourmand Poka. Where Poka was indulgent and sweet, Anelo goes tropical — inspired by sailors chasing new coastlines and fruit nobody back home had smelled before.
The name itself is a mash-up: Anelo is short for the two fruits driving the composition, pineapple and pomelo.
The notes: pineapple, mango, and a lot of sunshine
This is an extrait de parfum, so concentration is high and the notes are meant to project.
- Top: Pineapple, pomelo, mandarin
- Heart: Ginger, mango, magnolia
- Base: Amber, patchouli, vetiver
The opening is loud in the best way — fresh-cut pineapple next to grapefruit-bitter pomelo, with mandarin keeping it from turning into a fruit cup. Ginger and mango bridge it into a slightly spicier, creamier phase before magnolia adds a soft floral lift. It's the dry-down where Pernoire's DNA shows up: amber, patchouli, and vetiver settle it into something warmer and more grounded, which is probably why people keep reaching for the Aventus/Erba Pura comparison — that citrus-into-woody-amber shape is a familiar one, even if the fruit up top is doing something different here.
How it wears
Early reviews are landing on above-average longevity with moderate-to-strong projection for the first few hours, settling closer to skin as the amber and vetiral base take over. It's being described as an easy warm-weather wear — something for a beach day or a night out where you want to be noticed walking in without overwhelming a room.
Is it worth it?
At $260 for 50ml, Anelo isn't an impulse buy, and we won't pretend otherwise. Niche pricing at this level always draws the "is it worth it" question, and honestly that comes down to whether you value the composition and the rarity over a designer alternative with similar DNA. If you already gravitate toward Erba Pura or Vibrato and want something less common on the street, Anelo is worth a sample before a full bottle.
Where to buy Pernoire Anelo in the US
Pernoire is a small Swiss house, and Anelo isn't sitting on shelves at every US retailer — we picked it up while it was still available through authorized channels, and it won't stay in stock indefinitely. We carry the Pernoire Anelo Extrait de Parfum now if you want to try it before it's gone again. For more hard-to-find niche releases like this one, our Rare Gems collection is worth a browse.
